Pioneer Wreck
The Pioneer Wreck is a Japanese gunboat which sunk after a torpedo hit in World War II. It lies in an upright position in a depth of 43 – 54 meters. Because of this depths beyond recreational limits, the Pioneer Wreck is only suitable for technical divers or divers who are trained in decompression diving. The chances to see large pelagic like sharks and rays around the wreck are very good. The position of the gunboat only allows diving the Pioneer wreck during a few days of the month when the water conditions fit.
Bantigi
Bantigi is muck-diving of its best. The dive site has a maximum depth of 18 meters. Take your time to search for all kinds of pipefish, nudibranches seamoth and nearly all critters the philippine underwater-world has to offer for the macro-hunter.
Maripipi
One of the rarely visited dive-sites is Maripipi north of Malapascua. Plenteous of fish life’s including rays and sharks and the wonderful abundant corals can be seen. Diver who wants a dive site that has everything, Maripipi is the best place for your journey.
Lapus Lapus
Lapus-Lapus is a small Island just of the northwest tip of Malapascua. Next to some spectacular coral growth, various frogfish, huge sweetlips and lionfish can be found. The philippine-typical macro life is also hiding inbetween the corals. Occasionally divers spot a giant octopus who calls Lapus Lapus his home.
Marias Point
Marias Point north of Malapascua usually has strong currents. Even it is a rather shallow dive with a depth of about 18 meters, you should be an experienced diver who knows how to handle currents. Due to those currents you will find very good coral growth in mostly clear water and a great fish-life around Marias Point.
